Global virtual reality company Sandbox VR opening first Arizona location

• Before the full location opens, the company will offer a sneak peek with a temporary one-room operation in Mesa in a few weeks, Kelly Walsh, a PR representative for the company, told Axios.

How it works: Up to six people can play together, using full-body motion capture technology and haptic technology that simulates touch. Players explore various worlds, including experiences based on hits like "Stranger Things" and "Squid Game."

• "You're in the story and you're engaging with the other people around you. So it's a bit more intense and immersive than a typical VR, where you're just kind of visualizing things," Walsh said.
