It's been more than a week since 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her home outside of Tucson and law enforcement officials say they still have no suspects in her disappearance.
Why it matters: Guthrie, who is the mother of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie, is believed to have been abducted, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, and her children say they have received a ransom demand and are willing to pay for their mother's return.
Catch up quick: Guthrie was last seen on Jan. 31 when a family member dropped her off at her Catalina Foothills home and was reported missing the following day.
Nanos announced last Monday that Guthrie's disappearance was "suspicious" and a Tucson TV station received a ransom note later that day.
On Wednesday, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted an emotional video pleading for their mother's safe return and asking the ransom letter sender to provide proof of life.
On Thursday, The FBI announced it was jointly handling the case with the sheriff's department. The federal agency is offering a $50,000 reward.
The latest: On Saturday, the Guthrie children posted a second video on social media.
"We received your message and we understand," Savannah Guthrie said. "We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her."
"This is very valuable to us, and we will pay," she continued.
State of play: "The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing. Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified," the Pima County Sheriff's Department posted on X yesterday.
