Phoenix is getting another arena football team, and this one promises to be a juggernaut.
The big picture: The International Arena League will make its debut in April with at least four teams in the U.S. and five in Europe.
The latest: The league announced yesterday that Tempe's Mullett Arena will be the home base for the Arizona Juggernauts.
Other cities with confirmed teams include: Salt Lake City; Cincinnati; Las Vegas; Nottingham, England; Glasgow, Scotland; Stuttgart, Germany; Dusseldorf, Germany; and Zurich, Switzerland.
How it works: Games will mostly follow the traditional format of eight-on-eight arena football, "but we've made a few rule changes to make it faster, higher scoring and borderline crazy!" per the league website.
Between the lines: The International Arena League is separate from the Indoor Football League, where the Arizona Rattlers play.
