It's officially Christmastime at the state Capitol.
Gov. Katie Hobbs yesterday lit the tree in the lobby of the Executive Tower, inaugurating the holiday season.
State of play: The 30-foot pinyon pine was a gift from the Hualapai Tribe, continuing Hobbs' tradition since taking office in 2023 of sourcing the annual Christmas tree from a tribal community.
"This is more than a holiday gift. It is an offering of culture and kindness," state forester Thomas Torres told the crowd before the tree was illuminated.
