U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted a photo of himself atop Camelback Mountain over the weekend, and some people couldn't get over his choice of apparel for a summer hike in the Valley.
Zoom in: "With Finn atop Camelback in Phoenix this morning," Kennedy wrote on X Saturday.
The intrigue: Some commenters welcomed the secretary to the Valley, while others questioned the sweat-drenched Kennedy's decision to undertake his hike in mid-July, and some were primarily focused on his choice of attire, specifically his decision to wear jeans.
"Respectfully, as a born and bred Phoenician - hiking Camelback Mountain in July, in jeans, is just absolutely batsβ crazy my friend," fellow politico Meghan McCain tweeted back at him.
Between the lines: Wearing jeans for a summer hike in Phoenix may seem odd to many people, but it's pretty on-brand for Kennedy.
