These Arizona breweries are bringing home World Beer Cup awards

Four Arizona breweries and a cidery placed in this week's World Beer Cup competition.

Why it matters: We have some of the world's best beer right here. More than 1,700 breweries and cideries from 49 countries competed in the prestigious showdown.

State of play: Arizona racked up three silver medals and two bronze medals.

Dragoon Brewing (Tucson): Scottish-Style Ale, 2nd place
Lumberyard Brewing (Flagstaff): Extra Special Bitter, 2nd place
Saddle Mountain Brewing (Goodyear): Golden or Blonde Ale, 2nd place
Barrio Brewing (Tucson): English-Style Brown Ale, 3rd place
Six Byrd Cider (Tempe): Botanical or Spiced Cider, 3rd place

The bottom line: Bottoms up, champs!
