State of play: Edward Ward, a Casa Grande retiree, set up his easel on McDowell Road yesterday to paint the old-school, fast-food eatery.
Ward, who moved to Arizona from the Buffalo, New York-area five years ago, didn't even know the classic Taco Bell was there until he saw a news report about its untimely demise.
When he saw the retro-style facade, he liked the building and the color scheme and thought it would make a nice painting.
"I'm just a fan of painting. And I like painting anything. I paint buildings, people, landscapes," he told Axios.
