A new temporary art installation at the Desert Botanical Garden uses lights and geometric shapes to illuminate the Valley's scenery in a new way.
The big picture: "Light Bloom" will brighten the desert through Jan. 20 as part of the garden's rotating art exhibitions.
There are lighted geometric pieces on most of the garden's trails.
What they're saying: "Just as many cactus and desert plants have evolved to produce night-blooming flowers, adapting to their environment and thriving in darkness, our sculptures come alive after sunset," artists Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieu said in a Q&A for the garden.
If you go: The garden has extended its hours to 9pm Thursdays-Sundays to allow more time to see the display.
