Upscale Italian restaurant Élephante to open at Scottsdale Fashion Square

A popular Santa Monica restaurant is bringing coastal Italian fare to Scottsdale Fashion Square.
The big picture: Élephante will open on the lower level of the south wing near Nordstrom in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
- It's part of Fashion Square's luxury redevelopment project, which is nearly complete.
Zoom in: The restaurant is known for its "elevated" Italian dishes, including house-made pasta, wood-fired pizza, whipped eggplant and puccia — a puffed, soft bread from Italy's Puglia region.
- Some ingredients will be exclusive to the Scottsdale location, including imported burrata and anchovies crudo.
- Diners can choose from a long list of carefully curated cocktails or tap the expertise of the full-time sommelier roving the floor.
- The restaurant design, artwork and furniture are meant to transport guests to the "sun-drenched Mediterranean."
The intrigue: Élephante is part of Wish You Were Here Group, a collection of travel-inspired eateries.
- This is the restaurant company's first foray outside of Los Angeles, Las Vegas or New York City.
