There are plenty of events around the Valley for Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
State of play: Nearly 12% of the state's population in 2020 was Latino, according to the most recent U.S. Census.

If you're looking for a fun way to celebrate Latino culture and communities, check out some of these events:
🎨 Hispanic Heritage Month at the Museum
Bring the kids for arts and crafts activities like Frida Kahlo self-portraits and check out the work of featured artist Esmeralda Garcia Torres.
- Tuesday-Sunday at the Children's Museum of Phoenix. They'll have more activities Oct. 2-8, plus traditional folk dance performances on Oct. 12.
Catch some baseball from some of the top teams in Mexico's Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacifico, plus other activities like concerts, dance performances and food.
- There are games Thursday at American Family Fields in Phoenix, Friday-Sunday at Camelback Ranch, and Oct. 3-6 in Tucson.
Celebrate with music from Latin music groups Latin Breed, Pacific Mambo Orchestra and Fayuca, ballet performances, lucha libre, food, arts and crafts.

🎺 25th Annual Mariachi and Folklórico Festival
Enjoy music from a group of legends who have banded together to form Leyendas del Mariachi to celebrate the silver anniversary of Chandler's annual event, along with dance performances from Ballet Folklórico Quetzalli-AZ and Los Lupeños de San Jose.
- Oct. 5 at Chandler Center for the Arts. Tickets starting at $48.
Head to the West Valley for music, dancing, lucha libre, a car show, piñata busts, a petting zoo and more, capped off with a fireworks display.
- Oct. 5 at Mark Coronado Park, 5-9pm.
The garden has a pair of Hispanic Heritage Month events coming up.
- Celebrate Oaxaca's Indigenous cultures with Guelaguetza on Oct. 5-6.
- Try your luck at Lotería Night on Oct. 10.
Bring your appetite for a tortilla-making demonstration and food vendors, along with entertainment and children's activities.
- Oct. 6 at the Tempe Community Complex, noon-8pm.
