Ice skating deals in metro Phoenix to beat the heat

Trade 115 degrees for a cool 56 when you lace up your skates at one of the Valley's ice rinks this summer.

The big picture: About a half dozen metro Phoenix rinks have public skating hours where you can enjoy the chill and show off your moves. Here's where you can go:

Ice Den

Their summer special gets you a two-hour rink access pass and skate rental for $10 through Aug. 4. Skate trainers for little ones are $5 to rent.
Skaters must register online in advance.
Locations: Chandler and Scottsdale

AZ ICE

Skate sessions run $11 for adults and $9.50 for kids ages 4-12. Kids under 3 skate for free. Skate rental is an additional $4 and trainer rentals are $5.
Public skate session length and times vary by location, but there are typically at least two, two-hour sessions per day.
Locations: Arcadia, Gilbert and Peoria
