BlackWolf's interest in Phoenix comes as road rage shooting incidents have skyrocketed nationally over the past decade.

The big picture: Arizona had the sixth highest rate of shooting incidents per one million people from 2014-2023, per an analysis of Gun Violence Archive data by gun violence newsroom The Trace.

  • The state had 2.8 reported gun incidents in cars per one million people last year, which is a bit lower than the 2022 peak of 3.26.
