If you like thick cookies with a side of hip-hop, you need to check out Cookie Plug as soon as possible.
The big picture: The national chain of hip-hop-themed cookie shops recently moved to Arizona, with locations in Tempe, Tucson and north Phoenix, near the old Paradise Valley Mall.
Another location is planned for Ahwatukee.
Zoom in: These things are the size of hockey pucks. This isn't just a cookie — it's a challenge.
Best bites: I went with a box of seven — hey, I had to get a couple for my kids — so I could try as many as possible.
The Fruity Pebbles-filled Bam Bam delivers just what you'd expect, the strawberry cheesecake-flavored Pink Elephant was everything I'd hoped it would be, and the Snooperdoodle was a tasty, extra thick take on the traditional snickerdoodle.
The Purple Haze, a purple cookie with white chocolate chips, was unique and delicious.
But nothing beat the Firecracker s'mores cookie, which was gooey and incredible after being heated up in the oven.
