Hop in the DeLorean and travel back in time on Friday to help the Arizona Science Center celebrate its 40th anniversary.

  • And if that's not your thing, the science center has plenty of interesting stuff for both kids and adults coming up.

Driving the news: The center is bringing back its Science With a TWIST event Friday evening to celebrate its anniversary with an '80s-themed extravaganza.

  • The 21-and-over event will feature food and drinks, interactive activities and a showing of the movie "Back to the Future."
  • Admission to the 6pm event is $25 for members and $30 for others.

Zoom out: The anniversary party may be adults-only, but there's plenty for the kids as well.

  • The science center last month opened its OceanXperience exhibit, which lets you check out OceanX's OceanXplorer vessel.
  • The exhibit runs through Sept. 2.
  • And if you're still looking for something to do with your kids during spring break, Camp Innovation day camp happens all next week for kids ages 6-12.

What's next: Arizona isn't in the path of next month's solar eclipse, but we'll still get to see a partial eclipse with about 64% coverage here.

  • The science center is hosting a viewing party on April 8, so head to Heritage and Science Park and grab a pair of free eclipse-viewing glasses.
