Dior collection inspired by Louisiana artist Lynda Benglis

The big picture: As Dior's creative director, Anderson oversaw the brand's fall/winter haute couture fashion show at the Musée Rodin in Paris on Monday, specifically referencing Benglis' work.

• "Many of [Benglis'] works begin in two-dimensional materials that are transformed, through knotting, pleating or moulding, into three," reads Dior's website. "The art of couture enacts a similar shift: fabric is given sculptural form, accentuated when worn."

What he's saying: "What I love about Lynda and her body of work is that there is something which has got a spontaneous joy," Anderson told reporters before the show, according to W Magazine.

• "And at the same time, it's muscular. I think she is one of the greatest living artists. I find her deeply inspiring and someone who challenges my viewpoint in how I see the form in my own work."
