When to recycle your Christmas tree in New Orleans

Christmas tree recycling begins today for Orleans Parish.

• Place trees on the curb by 5am on your regular garbage pickup day now through Friday.
• French Quarter and Downtown Development District residents should drop trees curbside before 4am Thursday only.

Between the lines: The trees are used in coastal restoration efforts, so don't forget to remove all decorations before recycling yours.
