A new hotel is taking shape on St. Charles Avenue and is due to open in late 2026.
Why it matters: The project promises a new martini bar, restaurant and rooftop pool and bar from the CureCo. team and Andrew Zimmerman, a press release says.
The big picture: The Warbler Hotel is the first hospitality project developed by Verdad Real Estate. Its previous work has primarily been in fast-casual dining and convenience stores, according to those listed on its website.
Zoom in: The Warbler will be a six-story, 42,000-square-foot space located at 1923 St. Charles Avenue, which formerly held the Trolley Stop Cafe.
- The design, led by New Orleans architecture firm EskewDumezRipple and Los Angeles-based interior design studio Jamie Bush & Co., will lean into Jazz Age nostalgia, according to a press release, with "bold geometries and fluid lines of the Streamline Moderne design movement."
Dig in: The food and beverage program will include Mildred's, a martini bar and restaurant, and Upstairs, a poolside lounge on the rooftop.
What they're saying: "With The Warbler, [CureCo. partner Kirk Estopinal] and I were drawn to New Orleans' storied European heritage, and spotlighting more of that influence through the hotel's food and beverage experience," says CureCo. managing partner Neal Bodenheimer in a press release.
