How to see the World Naked Bike Ride in New Orleans

Bike riders in the buff will roll through New Orleans' French Quarter this Saturday with the return of the World Naked Bike Ride.

Why it matters: The scantily-clad cyclists aim to bring attention to body positivity bike safety by making themselves as un-ignorable as possible.

The big picture: The World Naked Bike Ride was first organized in Vancouver, Canada, in 2004, and has since expanded to locations around the globe, according to the group's website.

At its core, organizers say, the ride aims to "celebrate cycling and the human body [and] demonstrates the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and is a protest against car culture."

If you go: New Orleans' 17th annual naked bike ride will begin at 4pm Saturday at Mickey Markey Park. It winds through the French Quarter before ending back at the park.
