If you're looking to cool down in style, New Orleans now has its first swim-up pool bar.
Why it matters: The swanky new spot is a great addition to the city's hotel pools with drop-in access.
Zoom in: The Garden District Hotel is now open on lower Prytania Street with 50 rooms in the boutique space.
- The property comes from the same hotel developers as the quietly-cool Blackbird Hotel just across the street.
State of play: Where the Blackbird's space is chic and petite, the Garden District Hotel pool is expansive and lush.
- Both also have on-site dining and bars for poolside sipping and snacking.
If you go: Both properties have drop-in pool access for $30 Monday through Thursday, and $45 from Friday to Sunday, from 11am to 9pm daily.
- Access is available on a first come, first-served basis.
