Mardi Gras parade schedule in New Orleans: Zulu, Rex

Officials are hoping the weather holds long enough to roll the parades and get everyone home before noon.

The new schedule:

• Mondo Kayo Social and Marching Club, 6am, begins at Third & Magazine streets.
• Half-Fast Walking Club, 7am, begins at the InterContinental Hotel.
• Zulu, 6:30 am; Rex, 9 am.

In Jefferson Parish, Fat Tuesday parades are canceled for the first time in recent memory, other than during the COVID pandemic.

• The parish is working with the Krewe of Argus and the Krewe of Elks Jeffersonians truck parade to reschedule.

In New Orleans, Zulu and Rex will roll on a shortened route without bands and dance troupes. The truck parades are rescheduled for Sunday.

• Tents and tarps won't be allowed on the route today, NOPD says.
• Authorities are asking revelers to leave their chairs and umbrellas at home too.
