We're deep into spooky season in New Orleans, and celebrations are already kicking off even though we still have a couple weeks to go until Halloween.
Dig in: Here are a handful of spooky bar and restaurant events to put on your calendar.
Oct. 18-20 weekend events
🍸 Black Lagoon: The Halloween pop-up bar takes over Anna's through Nov. 3.
- Expect creative and creepy cocktails, and decorations to match. (More details)
☠️ Death at the Cabaret: The Virgin Hotel hosts a drag and burlesque night Oct. 18 at the Commons Club with a two-course menu, costume contest and spirited Halloween cocktails. (Reservations)
- Return to the Virgin Hotel on Oct. 19 for a "Nightmare on Elm Street" party. (Tickets)
👻 Krewe of Boo watch party: Stop by Tujague's for a Halloween parade watch party Oct. 19.
- Tickets include an open bar, a buffet, private bathrooms and access to the Tujague's balcony while the parade rolls in front of the restaurant. (Reservations)
Oct. 24-27 weekend events
💃 Spooky sips and burlesque: The Press Room, the bar inside the Eliza Jane hotel in the CBD, has a special Halloween cocktail menu from Oct. 24 through Nov. 2.
- Look for options like the Poison Apple, which has Applejack, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup and Fireball.
- Meanwhile, at Couvant, also in the Eliza Jane, Trixie Minx Productions hosts a Halloween-themed drag brunch Oct. 26. Menus are three courses and can include bottomless mimosas. (Reservations)
🍻 Brews and Boos: Head to Carousel Gardens to ride the Ladybug on an adults-only fundraiser hosted by the City Park Conservancy on Oct. 25.
- Tickets include a "GHASTLY amount of beer," which feels both worrisome and fun. (Tickets)
🎃 Ghoul party: The Bower hosts a three-course Witch's Luncheon with specialty cocktails Oct. 26. (Reservations)
🧟 Crawl the Quarter: Join a Halloween bar crawl Oct. 26 that stops at about a dozen French Quarter bars.
- There's a $1,000 costume contest and drink specials, and tickets include two or three drinks or shots. (Tickets)
