New Orleans chefs are stripping down to their birthday suits in a new calendar from photographer Kat Kimball.
Why it matters: They do say you eat with your eyes first, and this one's a feast.
The latest: "Jiggly Bits: The New Orleans Naked Chefs Calendar" is now available for pre-sale online, but it'll be available online and in-store at Dirty Coast by mid-October, according to a press release.
- The calendar is $35.
The big picture: Kimball says she's been working on "Jiggly Bits" for nearly a decade, and the final product was created in partnership with the creative agency Ganza.
- Inspired by Anthony Bourdain's book of essays and stories, "Nasty Bits," and cookbooks of the 1970s, Kimball wanted to focus on "the personalities behind the culinary creators, celebrating their unique charm and contributions to New Orleans' vibrant food culture," the press release says.
Zoom in: Obviously, Dan Stein, New Orleans' king of provocative restaurant ads, is in the calendar.
- So is Mason Hereford of Turkey & the Wolf and Hungry Eyes, Nina Compton of BABs and Compére Lapin, Amerys Koenig Herndon of Palm & Pine, and Nathanial Zimet of Boucherie.
Between the lines: A portion of the calendar proceeds will benefit WeHelp NOLA, a New Orleans nonprofit that supports mental health in the city's service industry by offering free therapy through an employer-based membership.
What she says: "Being able to bring this project to life and give back directly to my community will be the best thing I have done in my career thus far," Kimball says in the press release.
