The big picture: Method Man, Ginuwine, Tank, Tyrese, Tweet, Lloyd, Reyna Roberts, Donell Jones and Machel Montano also performed.
- Al Sharpton made an appearance too, along with Black Masking Indians who were a nod back to Essence's colorful magazine covers in honor of its host city.
- Earlier in the day, Keyshia Cole and Lady London hit the Coca-Cola stage at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
- And Vice President Kamala Harris spoke with Essence Ventures CEO Caroline Wanga in a special Q&A.
