Joe Biden and Donald Trump easily won their party's presidential nominations in Louisiana.

Why it matters: The country will have the first presidential rematch since 1956, Axios' Noah Bressner reports.

The big picture: Biden and Trump secured enough delegates earlier this month to clinch their primaries nationally.

  • Louisiana's primary was more of a formality, but every vote counts.

By the numbers: More Republicans cast ballots in Saturday's primary than Democrats, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's office.

  • The unofficial turnout statewide was 19% of registered Republicans and 14.6% of registered Democrats.

The Republicans: 90% of Louisiana voters picked Trump for the nominee.

  • Nikki Haley got 7% of the vote, followed by Ron DeSantis (2%) and Chris Christie (1%).
  • In Orleans Parish, Haley got 23% of the Republican vote. She suspended her campaign earlier this month.

The Democrats: Biden secured the state's Democratic nomination with 86% of the vote.

  • Marianne Williamson got 5%, then Dean Phillips with 3%, according to the Secretary of State's office.

Meanwhile, Democratic voters ousted the head of the Louisiana Democratic Party, writes Axios' Chelsea Brasted.
