We tried Juvenile's CheeWees and Juvie Juice

What's happening: Juvenile's 400 Hot Degreez CheeWees are now available in stores.

• Juvie Juice, a hard Arnold Palmer, launched earlier this year.
• The bags and the cans feature original illustrations by artist Nik Richard of Juvenile smiling broadly.

Obviously, we tasted them both. Call it day-drinking for science.

• The CheeWees hit quickly with a pleasant, biting heat, and I'm thankful pregnancy is behind me because these little crunchy curls would have had the heartburn landing hard.
• The lasting flavor is vaguely tomato-y, which is confusing because there doesn't seem to be any on the ingredient list. Moments later, my husband asked if I'm going to finish the bag, and he disappeared with it.
• As for the Juvie Juice, it's easy to imagine filling a cooler backpack with a six-pack or two before hitting the parade route.

What's next: Juvenile and Mannie Fresh head to the Saenger Theatre for a New Year's Eve show reuniting the band from their "Tiny Desk" performance that went viral earlier this year.
