Indianapolis coffee club brews new kind of party

Catch up quick: Daybreaker was a major pioneer of the format in 2013, when it launched early-morning weekday dance parties in New York City.

• The rest of the country has started catching on — coffee clubbing events are up 478% compared with last year, per Eventbrite.
• DJs spin daytime sets at coffee shops and event spaces nationwide.
• Events can mix yoga, live music, cold plunges and saunas, and high-fives.

Zoom in: FIND Indianapolis has been hosting monthly coffee clubs since July.

• Bo Turner, FIND founder, told Axios she saw Instagram videos of coffee clubs and raves in other countries and cities but didn't see anyone else hosting them in the Indianapolis area.
• So she planned one — and about 90 people showed up.
• Each month, FIND hosts the daytime party for 75-120 people at a different coffee shop or event space.

What she's saying: "I love the daytime element," Turner told us. "Dancing at 11am instead of 11pm …. Who says you have to dance at nighttime? Who made that rule?"

What's next: FIND's next Coffee Club is Sunday at Draft Creative Space in Fountain Square.

• There will be guided breathwork and meditation from 9:15-10am. The DJ dance party starts at 10am and goes till noon.
• Tickets are $25 and include unlimited iced and hot coffee from Tinker.
• CBD and THC canned seltzers will be available for sale, as will breakfast burritos.
