'Burb Bites: Papa Fattoush

The 'burb: Carmel.

My take: If you've had a gyro before, the ingredients are what you expect. But it's the execution that has made this Greek and Mediterranean restaurant one of my favorites.

• Frankly, Papa doesn't skimp on anything when putting this sandwich together. Crisp onion, juicy tomato and tender meat can barely be contained by the fluffy pita bread it's served on.
• And the aforementioned tzatziki is the ultimate finishing touch. It's a bit on the chunky side with hunks of cucumber that essentially become another veggie on the gyro.

Yes, but: The more tzatziki the merrier. Opting for a second cup gives you a fantastic place to dip your fries.

Fun fact: The restaurant, which opened in 2018, gets part of its name from one of its popular menu items.

• Fattoush salad is a Middle Eastern staple made with vegetables and fried pita bread.
