The WNBA's 2025 broadcast and travel schedules are proof that hoops fans across the country are catching a fever.
The big picture: Fresh off a historic 2024 season, the new-look Indiana Fever will be on national television more than any other WNBA team, and their popularity has led teams to move Fever games to bigger venues.
State of play: The league's 29th season, which starts in May, will feature a record 44 games per team, up from 40 games the past two seasons and feature the debut of the Golden State Valkyries, the first expansion team since the Atlanta Dream entered the league in 2008.
By the numbers: Our home team will be featured on national television in 41 of their 44 regular season games, a franchise high and the most for a team in WNBA history.
- The Las Vegas Aces, led by three-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson, have the second most with 33 games.
- The defending WNBA champions, the New York Liberty, are third with 32 games.
Yes, but: Watching all 41 of those games depends on what platforms you have access to.
- Five games will be on ABC, five games on ESPN, eight games on ION, six games on Prime Video, three games on CBS, four games on CBS Sports Network and 10 games on NBA TV.
- The Fever's 2025 local broadcast schedule has not been announced.
The intrigue: The Fever draw such big crowds that six WNBA teams have moved those matches to larger venues, and more relocations are likely to be announced.
- The Fever's first road game on May 22 against Atlanta has been moved to State Farm Arena, home of the NBA Hawks.
- The Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics have relocated two Fever games.
- The Aces, Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings have all relocated one game as well.
Zoom in: The Fever start the season at home against the Sky on May 17 to further the rivalry between Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark and Sky forward Angel Reese in a game on ABC. The Sky is the only team the Fever play five times.
- The Fever play the Valkyries for the first time June 19 on Prime Video.
- Fever will play the Sun, the team that sent them home in the first round of the 2024 playoffs, four times this year. They get their first shot May 30 at home on ION.
The latest: The Fever team taking the floor in 2025 is not the same squad that got swept.
- For one, the Sun's former coach is now on our sidelines. Stephanie White is back as the team's new leader.
- Other new faces include DeWanna Bonner, Sophie Cunningham, Natasha Howard, Sydney Colson and Brianna Turner.
- NaLyssa Smith, Katie Lou Samuelson, Erica Wheeler, Temi Fagbenle, Grace Berger, Victaria Saxton and Kristy Wallace are notable losses.
