8th Day Distillery serves up NA canned cocktails and mocktails

Going dry or "damp" this January doesn't mean you have to avoid bars or even cocktails.

The big picture: Spaces that traditionally focus on alcohol — like bars and bottle shops — are increasingly giving up booze, instead offering high-quality non-alcoholic alternatives to make New Year's resolutions that much easier to achieve.

Zoom in: 8th Day Distillery is a bottle shop and cocktail bar operating out of the Factory Arts District (formerly known as the Circle City Industrial Complex).

Crafting spirits since 2015, 8th Day opened the bar with a cozy living room vibe in 2018 and has a regularly rotating menu of inventive cocktails and mocktails created by its team of bartenders.

Brew of the week: NA Gin & Tonic, 8th Day's non-alcoholic seltzer that invokes flavors of the classic cocktail.

8th Day also sells non-alcoholic versions of its Flaminglow (blood orange and rosemary) and The Earl (Earl Grey tea) canned cocktails.

💭 Arika's thought bubble: It's crisp and bubbly with enough flavor of citrus and herbs to feel like you're drinking something more than just another La Croix.

I tried this alongside the alcoholic version to see how they compare. The NA version is less sweet than the regular, which is a touch sweeter than I prefer my G&Ts — to be expected with the ready-to-drink canned cocktails.
