Welcome to Meet the Maker, a series dedicated to shining a spotlight on local creators of all kinds.

Meet the six makers and organizations being honored by the Indy Arts Council for advancing arts and culture in the Circle City.

The inspo: Since 1987, ARTI award winners have been recognized during the council's Start With Art Celebration that kicks off the fall art, gallery and cultural season.

This year, Start with Art goes down at the Indiana Roof Ballroom on Aug. 22.
The event is sold out, but community donations are encouraged.

What they're saying: "We are thrilled to honor the 2024 ARTI Award winners and help showcase the transformative power of creativity in our community," Julie Goodman, Indy Arts Council President and CEO, said in a statement.
