Art & Soul artists performing free show

The inspo: Established in 1996, Art & Soul is the Indy Arts Council's largest public program and serves as a celebration of Black art and music in Indy.

• Visual artist Boxx The Artist, musician Dexter Clardy, dancer Austin Day and spoken word artist jus Will were this year's featured artists.
• Applications for Art & Soul 2025 are being accepted through Sept. 1.

Zoom in: Clardy and Will headline Friday's event, alongside 2019 featured artist Allison Victoria.

• Victoria is a self-taught musician who says she creates to be a "true voice for others and spread love one song at a time."
• Clardy is an IU graduate and veteran of the IU Soul Revue who has shared bills with acts like Twenty-One Pilots, Ava Max and Doja Cat.
• Will is author of "The Missedprint of a Poet" and co-host of a monthly open mic called "The Green House Affect" at PharmFree Life + Coffee & Tea Bar in Castleton.

• Indy Art Council's Gallery 924 will also be open for attendees to take in the First Friday exhibition opening for local artist Priya Wittman.
