Indy could host WWE Royal Rumble in 2025, WrestleMania and SummerSlam later

Driving the news: Wrestling news source WrestleVotes shared on X that Indiana Sports Corporation is nearing a multi-event deal with the WWE that would begin with hosting the 2025 Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium on Feb. 1, 2025.

• They add the deal would likely include future WrestleMania and SummerSlam events.

Flashback: Indy last hosted WrestleMania in 1992, packing more than 62,000 people into the Hoosier Dome.

• The city made a formal bid for the event in 2018 but was passed over.

The intrigue: Along with news that the Royal Rumble could be hitting Indy in less than a year, wrestling fans were surprised by the date.
