Welcome to Meet the Maker, a series dedicated to shining a spotlight on local creators of all kinds.

Meet Tege Holt, a 16-year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist who's keeping a busy tour schedule this spring.

The inspo: Holt, a Carmel native, says the moment he fell in love with music happened when he was just 4 years old and his dad played "Pink Houses" by John Mellencamp.

  • "I heard that and I was just like, 'I need to play guitar,'" Holt said.
  • Holt also lists Luke Combs, Drake White and George Strait among his favorite artists.

Zoom in: Holt released his first original song when he was 12. On stage he performs his own stuff, as well as covers of '80s, '90s and current rock and country.

  • Holt has 10 original songs available on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms.
  • His latest release, "Irish Found," is inspired by being a lifelong fan of Notre Dame football.

What he's making now: Stops at a lot of central Indiana stages.

  • His tour over the next few months includes performances in Westfield, Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, Brownsburg, Elkhart and more.

Check him out: On his website, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook.
