Indy native's podcast teaches T-Swift

• Driving the news: Holcomb, a former English teacher at the University of Indianapolis and Providence Cristo Rey High School, is one of the hosts of "AP Taylor Swift," a podcast that zooms in on Swift's lyrics instead of her social links.

Zoom in: Alongside her two co-hosts, "AP Taylor Swift" is a weekly show described as, "the podcast for Swifties with English degrees, or those who over-analyze everything," offering breakdowns of Swift lyrics and track titles via the kind of literary analysis typically found in an AP English class.

• The show started in September, and each 30- to 60-minute episode gives single-song deep dives.
• Episodes also come with a study guide with a complete listing of every book, film or other literary work referenced during the discussion.

The intrigue: Holcomb said if they keep doing one song per episode, Swift has already given the show enough content to run for 10 years — without including the upcoming "Tortured Poets Department" album.

• Songs they've covered on the show so far include "Enchanted," "The Outside," "Mastermind" and "Death by a Thousand Cuts."

What they're saying: Holcomb said the podcast aims to fill a void for Swifites who are fans because of her art instead of other topics that dominate mainstream attention.

• "It's super easy to find stuff about her personal life, but there just seemed to be a gap in people really diving deep into her art," Holcomb said.
