Nine of the United States' founding documents are in Houston for the Freedom Plane Tour.
Why it matters: Houston is one of eight cities to land the National Archives Foundation's historic artifact tour celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary.
Driving the news: The Freedom Plane, a Boeing 737 owned by the manufacturer and outfitted to transport the documents cross-country, landed Monday at Hobby Airport.
The intrigue: The documents will be on display May 9–25 at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
- They include a secret draft of the Constitution from 1787, the Treaty of Paris from 1783 and several of the Founding Fathers' oaths of allegiance to the Continental Army from 1778.
If you go: Entry to the exhibit is free, though tickets are required and available only at the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
