Anti-Trump protest planned outside Houston City Hall

State of play: Days of protests in Los Angeles against the Trump administration's sweeping immigration measures have sparked demonstrations across the country.

Zoom in: A demonstration last weekend in Houston saw hundreds of people marching from Montrose to Hermann Park in protest of ICE detentions and deportations.

• A peaceful demonstration in Dallas Monday evening escalated to a contentious encounter between protesters and police, according to local reporting.
• And in downtown Austin, a "large group," as described by police, moved throughout the streets Monday night. Police used tear gas to disperse protesters.

The big picture: Millions of people are estimated to protest Saturday in more than 1,500 cities across all 50 states and commonwealths, organizers said.

Protests are planned in downtown, Kingwood, League City, Sugar Land, Cypress, Katy and Conroe.
