4. Five must-see Houston Rodeo acts

👋 Jay here! I wanted to share my wish list of acts to see this year on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's rotating star stage.

Why it matters: This year's slate of artists includes newcomers and old favorites, enough to draw music lovers from across several genres.

Here's who made my top five list:

50 Cent: The newly minted Houstonian will perform at the rodeo for the first time March 1.

Major Lazer: Throwing it back to my own EDM and dubstep-loving days with this choice. The trio performs March 8.

Bun B: I regretfully missed Bun performing at the last few rodeos. The rapper will grace the stage once again March 12.

Nickelback: Please, don't hate. Butt rockers everywhere (myself included) were elated to see the Canadian rock band will perform at this year's rodeo. Playing March 13.

Jonas Brothers: I hate to say it, but this choice is only to hear Nick sing "red dress" in person — strictly for the meme. They take the stage March 15.
