Pewabic expands with new neighborhood studio

Zoom in: The new studio is under construction to open later this fall at the Cadillac Arts Centre on Detroit's east side.

• It's about a six minute walk northwest of Pewabic's longtime East Jefferson home — which will continue its normal operations.

Between the lines: The Cadillac center is part of the arts-focused Little Village development area that also includes church-turned-gallery the Shepherd.

• Pewabic is making its new space fully accessible by partnering with the nearby Progressive Art Studio Collective that supports artists with developmental disabilities.
