Things to do this weekend in Metro Detroit: Jan. 9-11

❄️ Up for a spontaneous road trip? Downtown Grand Rapids' World of Winter Festival starts this weekend with light-based art installations, ice carving, fire performers, figure skaters and more.

• Most installations are open 8am-11pm daily, though some only take place after dark. Free!

🏀 See the Pistons go head-to-head with the L.A. Clippers at Little Caesars Arena.

🔥 Valade Park on the east riverfront has board games, food, drinks, bonfires, marshmallows and curling every Saturday and Sunday.

🎸 Hear dozens of local musicians cover the Boss, also known as Bruce Springsteen, at Lager House in Corktown.

🕺 This weekend at the Magic Bag, immerse yourself in indie rock music fused with indie dance in a cosmic-themed party night.
