👋 Annalise here. Sometimes you just need a simple, comforting meal that features eggs — and when you do, the Cracked Egg of Grosse Pointe is here for you.

Dig in: I've driven by this little diner a thousand times on my way to take my dog to Balduck Park, but I didn't stop in until just recently.

The cozy little café was playing classic tunes and offered all the classic breakfast items, even during lunch hours, plus some dishes that raised my eyebrows like Cap'n Crunch and PB&J French toast.

Continuing on my recent obsession with meat since I stopped being pescatarian last year, I tried the country skillet ($14). It starred scrambled eggs on top of thick, flavorful sausage gravy, veggies, diced potatoes, melty cheddar cheese and, of course, more sausage chunks.
