How Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand starts his day

🍳 Breakfast: He's a "big breakfast" guy and eats Casey's breakfast pizza, Waveland Cafe or a breakfast sandwich at home.

• "There's usually eggs and meat involved."

📱What he's reading: Des Moines Register, The Gazette, Axios Des Moines and News Items by John Ellis. He also reads The Economist.

• "National news is really hard to trust if you're consuming it on a day-to-day basis. But usually by the time the week has finished, a lot of dust has settled and it's easier to sort fact from fiction."

💡 How he juggles his days: "As best I can," Sand says.

• He's spent less time doing his hobbies and didn't go turkey hunting this spring.
