๐ Jason here! Axios the cat is officially ready for a forever home โ just one that's outdoors.
Catch up fast: A stray kitten took a ride in my car engine in July.
- I caught the lil' kitty and she survived without injury, but she was clearly traumatized and scratched the bejesus out of me on the way to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL).
State of play: The ARL named the kitten Axios and put her through a behavioral modification program.
- She also spent some time with a metro foster family to better prepare for permanent placement.
Yes, but: Axios can't be tamed.
- She's now in the ARL's "Camp Purr" program, designed for feral or semi-feral cats who are happiest living outside, ARL spokesperson KC Routos tells us.
๐ญ Between the lines: Axios has a career of mousing ahead of her and should make a good barn cat.
What we're watching: Axios must be adopted with at least one other Camp Purr kitty, a requirement to help the cats better acclimate to a new environment.
- Tell us if you adopt her!
