Winter days in Denver with warmer temperatures are increasing, a trend driven by climate change, a new report finds.
Why it matters: More warm winter days mean fewer opportunities for winter recreation and can have knock-on effects on water supply the following warm season.
By the numbers: In 2023, 10% of the winter posted above-freezing minimum temperatures, climate science organization Climate Central found.
In a model without global warming, this would occur just 3% of the time, or 3 days each season.
