Our weekend picks: Fury home opener, rock shows and winter hikes

Columbus' pro volleyball team is back on the court for a third season with nowhere to go but up.

🏐 Our pick: The Fury's Saturday home opener against Omaha.

State of play: The team finished in last place in 2025 with a 9-19 record — but added more experience, size and "point-scorers" to its roster in the offseason, per a news release.

Major League Volleyball (formerly the Pro Volleyball Federation) is also in its third year, with eight teams.
An expansion is planned for 2027.

🎸 Rock out: "Bangers" debuts at Shadowbox Live and the Columbus Symphony Pops performs at the Davidson Theatre.

Both shows are Friday and Saturday.

⛄ Take a (winter) hike: Metro Parks is giving guided tours with refreshments Saturday at Sharon Woods and Sunday at Slate Run.
