A local attorney who guides families through some of life's toughest moments is now helping them celebrate one of its most joyful: weddings.
Why it matters: Kelly Jasin and her husband, Bryan, purchased the historic German Village home we featured in 2023 and turned it into the neighborhood's only bridal shop.
- It's also a rare three-story property, boasting two modern apartments with a view upstairs.
State of play: After extensive renovations, Brick + Ivory is finally open, and the two-bedroom apartments are ready to welcome tenants.
- Kelly studied fashion design and merchandising before law, making this a passion project.

Zoom in: The building's stunning transformation modernized the space and its amenities while retaining historic character.
- The work included peeling back plastered brick walls, restoring wood floors, knocking down interior walls and completely gutting the utilities.
- The unique property at 828 City Park Ave. sold for $750,000. It hadn't been on the market since the 1950s, and the listing shows a time capsule of that era.

Flashback: The Jasins' research found the property is older than initially thought, dating back to the 1890s.
- The ground level was once a nickelodeon theater, a cabinet shop and, most recently, artist Edmund Kuehn's home studio.
- Getting the building up to code was challenging, but a labor of love, Kelly tells Axios.

As newlyweds, the Jasins lived in German Village, where Kelly grew up. She's eyed the property for years.
- "It's really special to us," she tells Axios. "We'd always be taking walks down here, and be like, 'This just looks like a bridal studio. This needs to be a bridal studio one day.'"
Now, that day is here. She's already taking appointments and enjoys counseling brides through an exciting milestone.
The bottom line: "I really wanted to create something that felt intimate, where you could share that special moment with your loved ones," she says.
