👋 Tyler here. Columbus is about to hit the big stage and I'm a little nervous about it.
Catch up quick: The Netflix reality dating show "Love Is Blind" started casting here last summer. Production is apparently ongoing, but a spokesperson declined to give us any specifics.
Singles chat in closed-off "pods" and only meet in person after getting engaged sight unseen.
The season ends with decisions to get married or split up.
A confession: It's my stupid comfort show. I'm almost finished with the current Minneapolis season (no spoilers!), but it's been super dull compared to past years.
There's way too much "Midwest Nice" going on. Not enough dramatic moments … and everyone seemingly knew each other before filming began.
😬 I fearthe same for our season. Is Columbus too nice? Too lacking in distinct culture? Will America think of us as a boring cowtown?
Case in point:Redditors claim local contestant recruitment happened on LinkedIn, of all places!
Friction point: I want Columbus portrayed in a good light, but I also want the season to be interesting.
They might need to manufacture drama. Pair an OSU diehard with a Michigan grad. Force an impatient couple to bicker in Route 23 traffic. Something!
