Gogo Charters, a Texas-based charter bus company, is launching a Midwest bus network with stops planned for downtown Columbus.
Why it matters: This will give Central Ohioans another option for traveling to major cities across the region, all while Amtrak expansion is still in the planning stages.
State of play: The network is scheduled to launch this summer, with fares beginning as low as $10 and a dynamic pricing model based on trip length and availability.
Gogo plans to depart from the Westin Downtown Columbus hotel at 310 S. High St.
Zoom in: Columbus routes will take passengers to Cleveland and Indianapolis, with stops in Akron and Dayton, respectively.
From there, passengers can transfer to buses traveling to Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.

The intrigue: Several Gogo routes will travel corridors that have been selected by the Federal Railroad Administration as priorities for potential Amtrak expansion, though that's still years down the road.
What they're saying: Gogo says passengers can expect "an elevated travel experience with modern buses" and amenities including reclining seats, WiFi, and onboard restrooms.
