Netflix's "The Hunting Wives" was filmed in and around Charlotte and fans are starting to notice.
Why it matters: North Carolina's film industry is quietly boosting tourism as visitors flock to recognizable backdrops. Plus, the star-studded show is heading into its second straight week as a top 10 series on Netflix.
Catch up quick: "The Hunting Wives" is based on May Cobb's 2021 novel by the same name. It follows Sophie (played by Brittany Snow from "Pitch Perfect" and "John Tucker Must Die") as she and her family move from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the fictional town of Maple Brook, Texas.
- There she meets Margo (played by Malin Åkerman from "27 Dresses") and her husband Jed (played by Dermot Mulroney from "My Best Friend's Wedding").
- Other familiar faces in the show include Chrissy Metz from "This Is Us" as Starr and Katie Lowes from "Scandal" as Jill.
- You can stream all eight episodes of the first season now.
- Be prepared for a Rated-R murder-mystery with a lot of nudity.
Below are nine filming locations and local businesses we spotted while watching the show.
