Charlotte-inspired brand opens first shop in NoDa

Charlotte-centric clothing brand Queen & Cotton will open its first brick-and-mortar shop Saturday in NoDa.
Why it matters: Charlotteans who want to rep the 704 now have a permanent place to browse Queen & Cotton's graphics, which reference our city's sports teams, symbols and inside jokes. Just check out their new "Exit 3A" T-shirt.
The big picture: Queen & Cotton is a quintessential small local business success story.
- Since 2021, husband-and-wife team Travis Blain and Tal Benamor have built a following selling their West Coast-inspired apparel at markets and Charlotte Collective, a South End shop that spotlights locally made products.
- Queen & Cotton found its new home in one of Centro NoDa's micro-storefronts — small retail spaces that make it affordable for growing entrepreneurs to set up shop in the popular neighborhood.
Other tenants at Centro Noda include Yemeni coffee shop Bayt Almocha, Philly-style eatery Ricci's Hoagies, ice cream shop Morelia Gourmet Paletas and baby and children's boutique James + Joy.

- Saturday's grand opening is 11am to 6pm. There will be a DJ, cold drinks and a raffle.
