Eric Church and Morgan Wallen are putting on a country music festival in Winnsboro, S.C. called Field & Stream Music Fest.
Why it matters: In addition to listening to live music, festival-goers can participate in a variety of outdoor activities like camping, hiking, fishing and whitewater rafting.
The lineup includes some of today's top country music artists, including Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, and iconic bands from ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
- Church, a North Carolina native, will headline the festival, which will take place Oct. 4-6.

"You're going to be able to enjoy Free Bird in the great outdoors. ...That's going to be really special."— Bob Durkin, co-founder of Southern Entertainment
The vibe: Field & Stream Music Fest will be a "mix of leisure and adventure," according to organizers.
- It will take place at Carolina Adventure World, a 3,000-acre campground with year-round ATV rentals and dirt biking trails.
Tickets start at $189 for three-day general admission. Three-day VIP passes are $399 and three-day Super VIP passes are $1,099.
- In June, festival organizers will release the list of excursions. Some are free, while others cost up to $300, and can be added straight to the ticket price.

Accommodations: You can immerse yourself completely and stay onsite in a tent, cabin or RV.
- Pricing varies between $229.00 for a tent rental ($99 parking pass not included) and $1,749 for the "glamping" option, which puts you in a safari-style tent for two with a queen bed.
- In June, festival organizers will announce shuttle pick-up locations for those who want to travel in and out of the festival.

Between the lines: Church and Wallen grew up reading Field & Stream Magazine, an outdoor sports publication established in 1895. Feeling nostalgic about the magazine that went out of print in 2020, the duo purchased it in 2024 with plans to revive the brand.
- Although Wallen is helping to organize the festival, he's not currently listed as a performer. The controversial musician has been racking up headlines recently, for everything from his record-breaking hit with Post Malone to a recent arrest on felony reckless endangerment charges in Nashville.
Zoom in: Church and Wallen are partnering with Southern Entertainment, the company behind music festivals like Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach and most recently Lovin' Life Music Fest in Charlotte.
- LLMF sold out in its inaugural year, and Southern Entertainment has already announced it'll be back in Charlotte May 2-5, 2025. Southern Entertainment co-founder Bob Durkin tells Axios they'll start announcing headliners sometime this summer.

The big picture: While city-specific festivals like Lovin' Life and Dreamville are on the rise, national music festivals like Coachella are seeing a dip in ticket sales.
- But festival organizers like Durkin don't think it's the end of large music festivals; they just have more competition. "There's more pressure on them to stay fresh and new with all these other new ones going around," Durkin said.
